Gudiezhoucheng Ruins

The ancient Diezhou City site is located in Rannao Village, Dianga Township, the eastern suburb of Diebu County, on the platform on the north bank of Bailong River, backed by the top of Zhaga Dushan Mountain. Today's Diebu County was Hechuan County during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. In the second year of Wude, Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty, it was called Diezhou City. The city is about 1000 meters long from east to west and 450 meters wide from north to south. So far, the ruins of the ancient city still exist, and the stick eyes and rammed earth layers on the ruins are clearly visible. In the ruins and the rammed earth layer of the ruins of the castle, a large number of colored and plain pottery pieces, as well as ancient cultural relics such as pottery pots, stone tools, cloth tiles, Jomon bricks, stone axes, and tooth fossils have been found in many places. On a mountain beam about 80 meters high in the northwest of the ancient city, there is an ancient beacon tower made of loess. The ruins of the ancient city have been identified as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in 1993. In addition, there are many ancient city ruins in Diebu County. 15 kilometers east of the county town, in the south of Ji'ina Village, Dianga Township, there is a "Ma Mucheng" built by Tuyuhun during the Northern and Southern Dynasties and the Western Wei Dynasty. And pottery pieces, including fine-mud earless pots, fine-mud double-eared red pots, etc. In the Bugang landslide in Yiwa Township, 10 kilometers west of the county seat, there is an ancient city site, which was built during the Zhenguan Period of the Tang Dynasty when the ancient Diezhou City was forced to move there due to the war. An ancient tomb was excavated near the city. There are also the ruins of the ancient city of Jiamutang 1 km southwest of the ancient city of Diezhou, the ruins of the ancient Fangzhou city 35 kilometers east of the county by the Bailong River, the ruins of the ancient city of Jiuruka and the ancient city of Luoda in Dalagou, all of which are from the Tang Dynasty and Tang built before.
