Go to Doylestown, which is located opposite the Mercer Museum Museum, a privately-owned museum built in 1988 that blends Italian and Roman revival styles. There is a small courtyard outside the museum with several sculptures, and the local community library is next to the museum. The museum houses more than 3,000 paintings and sculptures from the colonial period to the present. After several expansions, the museum formed the current gallery, and was once known as the best museum in Pennsylvania in 2018. 📌 Tour: ▪️ The Art Museum is located in the stone wall of a historic 19th century old prison site. After visiting, I didn't expect that this place was actually the old site of the prison at that time. I only found it when I came back to check the museum introduction. The art museum was built by O'Donnell& Naccarato, the prison director's house and guard room were transformed into the current art museum exhibition space, and part of the wall of the prison was retained, just providing the background for the sculpture park outside the museum. The art museum is not big, and a more pocket-sized exhibition hall. Although there are only a few tourists in the museum, there is also a small Japanese-style exhibition hall in the museum, with classic Nakajima furniture. The style of the exhibits here is mainly: Pennsylvania Impressionist Painter, New Hope Painter, American original painter, The works of painters and modern painters, and the most worth watching is the paintings of Pennsylvania Impressionism, a style of painting that arose in Pennsylvania in the 20th century.
