Xiaogang Village

Xiaogang Village is located in the northwest of Chuzhou City and 25 kilometers east of Fengyang County. It is the first village of reform in China. In the 1960s, people's communes were implemented in rural China, and food and drink were shared, which had an impact on the enthusiasm for labor. In 1978, 18 farmers in Xiaogang Village took the risk of pressing bright red handprints on the land contract responsibility letter in the way of "supporting orphans", and implemented the "big contract", and they were responsible for their own fields. There are also farmhouses in the past. The farmhouses in them maintained the appearance of the 1960s and 1980s, including thatched houses, pigsties, and cowsheds. In addition, at the entrance of the Xiaogang Village Archives (Village Committee), there is a sculpture in the shape of an open book, with the names of the 18 villagers who pressed the red handprint on it.
