The 6-mile drive to the tunnel is pretty and the road is good. There are several hiking trails near the tunnel. We walked the Noland Creek Trail and the Tunnel Bypass Trail.
This was a fun, adventurous thing to see. We were in the cupcakery in downtown Bryson City and the worker there recommended we check it out. It was a short drive there, maybe 7-8 miles from the town. ...

Nice little drive with hiking trails.
