The Elmslie Memorial Church was established in memory of the Rev. Elmslie. In 1830, the Jamaican Presbyterian Church decided to send missionaries to Africa to preach the gospel, but it was difficult to find a church on the Cayman Islands, so they decided to send Elmslie, a 50-year-old priest from Jamaica, to the Cayman Islands. Elmslie travelled all over Grand Cayman, especially Georgetown. The roof of this memorial church is a perfect combination of force and beauty with a roof overturned hull.
