Even now, it's not a pinch even if it's called "banana beating".

    Original Text

It was a place immediately after leaving Mojiko Station. Even though I visited many times, I passed by without noticing it, but I was able to confirm the explanation board of Japanese heritage for the first time 々. I wasn't particularly surprised because there was a birthplace in Japan, but I never saw bananas batting itself, so I didn't get a pin even if it was said to be the birthplace.

Banana used to be a high-class fruit!

    Original Text

JR In the corner of the Kyushu Headquarters Building, next to the station square of Mojiko Station, there was a stone monument and an explanation board called "the birthplace of bananas. Bananas used to be mainly carried from Taiwan. However, due to long shipping, which has not been established as well as the preservation technology, some blue bananas will inevitably ripen and turn yellow along the way. So, instead of discarding such bananas, a way for street vendors to sell them was born as a way to cash them. This ...

In the corner of the station of Moji port station, there is a stone pillar of "the birthplace of banana tatami"

    Original Text

I think it was around the Showa period, but even in the town of Hokkaido where I live, banana tatami sales were normally seen on the street corner. The banana tatami sales originated from Kitakyushu and Mojiko. In a corner of the station in front of Mojiko Station, there was a stone pillar that said "the birthplace of banana tatami sales", and there was an explanation board next to it. In the "Strait Retro Street" on the 1 floor of the Kanmon Strait Museum, there was a corner reproducing the place where bananas were sold, so I was interested ...

    Trade port の certificate

    Original Text

It is located near the old JR Kyushu headquarters building on the right hand side of the square, just off Mojiko Station. It is said that it sold deteriorated goods during transportation in this area, which was the base of bananas from Taiwan, and it is unique to a trade port. I think it's easy to understand because there is an explanation.

    I feel nostalgia.

    Original Text

From Shimonoseki, take a ferry to the Kanmon Strait to Moji. On the wall on the left side of the fountain in the square in front of JR Moji Station, there is the "Birthplace of Banana Tatami Sales", which became a Japanese heritage in 4 year. It is a spot with only a stone monument and an information signboard. It's a place that doesn't stand out very much, but it's interesting that it's famous nationwide. It is no wonder that this Moji station, which is the gateway to Kyushu from the Taisho Period to the early Showa period, originated. If you have time, I would like you to visit not only the exterior of Moji Station, but also the ticket gates and toilets inside ...
