The Hushan Great Wall in Dandong | The starting point of the eastern end of the Great Wall
The starting point of the eastern end of the Great Wall. The Great Wall starts from Shanhaiguan in the east and stretches to Jiayuguan in the west. However, the actual eastern starting point of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall is at the summit of Hushan in Dandong, Liaoning. It is located on the banks of the Yalu River, perched atop Hushan, turning northward and then westward. From there, the Great Wall winds through mountains and ridges, crosses deserts, and leaps over the Gobi, reaching all the way to Jiayuguan.
Over 30 years ago, archaeologists discovered the remains of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall at the summit of Hushan in Dandong, Liaoning. According to archaeological excavations and verifications, it was originally built in the fifth year of the Chenghua reign of Emperor Xianzong of the Ming Dynasty, in 1469 AD, to prevent the Jurchen tribes from moving southward. The Hushan Great Wall was constructed with its starting point on the western bank of the Yalu River, extending westward to connect with the Shanhaiguan Great Wall. Historical records also mention: 'During the end of the Ming Dynasty, border defense was of utmost importance, starting from the Yalu River in the east and reaching Jiayuguan in the west.'

2⃣️It's unclear if the ancient plank road of a thousand meters is open, you can ask the staff for the specific opening times.
3⃣️The view from the second floor of the battery is superb, offering a panoramic view of the landscapes of China and North Korea, and there are telescopes available for a clear view of the North Korean people.

Hushan Great Wall
It is very convenient to buy tickets on Trip.com, saving the time to buy tickets on the spot. The parking lot of the scenic spot is very large. You can walk into the scenic spot. You don't need to take a sightseeing bus. You first go one step across, and then start climbing the Great Wall from the city gate. The Great Wall was further repaired and restored on the original basis, but it was really steep. Climbing to the top can overlook the opposite North Korea, especially suitable for children to play.
It is easy to overlook an attraction, but you can see the scenery of China and North Korea, and the view is very wide. And it is still the starting point of the east end of the Great Wall of Ming. Although there are many possibilities to be built, it cannot be denied its humanistic value. It was still very shocking after climbing up! And the off-season tickets are very cost-effective, it is recommended!
Archaeological discoveries finally confirmed that the starting point of the east end of the Great Wall of Ming Wanli was in the Tiger Mountain on the banks of the Yalu River in Dandong, Liaoning, corrected the statement that the east end of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty was the starting point of the East End of the Great Wall of Hushan. The Great Wall of Hushan was built in Mingchenghua for five years (Park 1467). The Great Wall of Hushan and North Korea are across the river, and it is the best place to see the scenery of the border between China and North Korea. Among them, the "one step across" and the North Korean river is only more than ten meters long, which can be described as a step across.
This attraction is a very worth visiting place, very historical value, beautiful scenery, convenient ticket collection and ticket verification, parking lot is also very large, some sections of this scenic spot are a bit difficult to climb, the whole scenic spot takes about half a day to visit.
