I stopped by when I visited Mt. Rokugo. The Buddha is wonderful in the quiet precincts, but the priest himself explained. Not only the Buddha statue, but also the guide to heaven and hell, and the humorous story is the best.
It was on the way to Ryokoji Temple. Is it related to Rurikoji Temple in Yamaguchi Prefecture? It was a magnificent temple, but unfortunately there was no one.

Although it is a small temple in the mountains, it is a spectacular temple with Buddhist statues from the Heian period and Buddhist paintings from the Edo period. When you pay the admission fee and enter the temple, there is a story from the priest, and the crisp tone of Oita dialect comes into your ears. Before you leave, you can ring the Bonsho with the permission of the priest, and you can spend a very comfortable time while staying.
A magnificent statue of Amida Nyorai in the Heian period found at a temple that I happened to stop by

On the way from Oita Airport to Ryokoji Temple by rental car, I was attracted to the characters of Ruriko on the guide display of the temple and stopped by by chance. The main hall seemed to be a relatively new building, but several Buddha statues, including the Amida Nyorai statue enshrined inside, were magnificent as if they were from the Heian period. As some people wrote, when I asked the famous chief priest to give a red stamp, I told him an interesting story if I paid 300 yen, but I felt a little suspicious. It's a red stamp ...
I didn't plan it, but the taxi driver went there by all means. 200 You can hear the story of the chief priest for yen. It was very helpful for me to talk about my ancestors. There are places where Oita dialect is mixed and difficult to understand, but I think that's also good. I would like to visit again and listen to the story.
