Honjin lodgment

Once this area was prosperous on the route of Bonotsukaido. And the place where now an elementary school stands, used to stand a Honjin, a lodgment for Daimyo, feudal lords. It remains only a marker.

In front of the school gate of Mii Elementary School, there is a wooden monument at the site of the Bozu Highway Fuchu-juku Honjin. There is no explanation board, but there is a large torii gate of Takara Taisha Shrine in the immediate vicinity, and the gate pillars of the school gate of Mii Elementary School are also magnificent with a sense of history. There is little traffic now, but I think many people came and went in the old days of Edo.
