The stone of the Contracting State is located on the right bank of the Xiangnong River, and corresponds to the castle of King John opposite. It bears witness to the Treaty of Limerick, signed on October 3, 1691. Prior to this, Catholic King James and Protestant King William fought for the throne, and their supporters fought the famous Battle of the Boyn River, where William's forces eventually defeated the James Party.
