Cycad
There are many temples in Teramachi, and this is one of them. The main building is a reconstruction of the 19th century, so it looks not very old. There are beautiful cycads near the main building.
I stopped by during the Teramachi tour. Immediately after entering the temple name marked "Jodo sect Joanji" and the mountain gate with the forehead, it became the main hall. There was an explanation board by the Nakatsu City Board of Education in the precincts, and it seems that it was built in 1640.
A temple near the Oe Medical Historical Museum. Although there is a mountain gate, there is no ridge and it is an open temple. Built in 1640 to mourn the Bodhisattva of Nagatsugu Ogasawara, the current main hall was rebuilt in 1811 with a donation from a wealthy merchant.
The sotetsu in front of the main hall is wonderful.

After visiting Nakatsu Castle, I worshiped while walking around Teramachi. It is a temple of the Jodo sect and is the family temple of Mr. Ogasawara. The main hall, built in 1640, was destroyed by fire, and the current main hall was rebuilt in 1811 by donations from a wealthy merchant in the town, and the large roof feels like a personality. It is said that the first town council of Nakatsu Town was held at Joanji Temple in 1897, and it turns out that I have walked with the town. There is a wonderful sotetsu tree in front of the main hall.
