Tianyi Pavilion | A place with distinctive features of southern Chinese gardens where you can also learn about local life
| A place with distinctive features of southern Chinese gardens where you can also learn about local life. 'Books hold the past and present, the port connects the world' is the slogan of Ningbo City, where 'Books hold the past and present' refers to Tianyi Pavilion.
In the 40th year of Jiajing, Fan Qin, the Deputy Minister of War, began to build a private library. Taking the meaning of 'Heaven generates water', he hoped to use water to prevent fire, the greatest calamity that has always plagued libraries.
Over the past four hundred years, Tianyi Pavilion has endured many disasters such as dynastic changes, wars, and theft. Fortunately, despite some losses, it has been preserved to this day. This is certainly due to the family teachings of the Fan family; Fan Qin and his descendants have devoted too much effort to this library.
Tour Guide
Tianyi Pavilion is a thematic museum that focuses on book culture, integrating research, protection, management, display, social education, and tourism. In my opinion, the best way to visit Tianyi Pavilion is to understand its historical background in advance, or hire a guide to tell you about it.
The Boya Hall, Zhuangyuan Hall, Fan's Former Residence, and Dongming Thatched Cottage are the main buildings inside.
Although it is not as exquisite as the Suzhou gardens, the rockeries and ponds here also reflect the characteristics of ancient Chinese gardens.
There is a display of southern wisdom here: the entire Tianyi Pavilion has no air conditioning, but the shops in the scenic area do, which makes you want to take a break in an air-conditioned room on such a hot day, and perhaps buy a cold drink or ice cream.
The stone engraving of the Shenlong version of the Orchid Pavilion Preface, housed in Tianyi Pavilion, is known as the 'Crown of the Orchid Pavilion'.
Photography Guide:
1 Personally, I don't have much experience with photography, but this place is definitely a great spot for taking photos in Hanfu, and even when I was visiting, many young people from Ningbo came here to take wedding photos.
2 The entire scenic area is compact, so there's no need for a telephoto lens, but the light inside the courtyard is not very good, so it's recommended to prepare a lens with a large aperture.

Very famous classic, overall good, antique, the whole block is well developed. The interior layout of the library is lack of fun, educational is not strong, and needs to be more creative, um
The environment in Tianyi Pavilion is quiet, three steps and one scene, five steps and one painting, rockery pavilion, which should be overwhelmed, is a typical private garden wind in Jiangnan. But the tour route guidelines are not clear enough.
Ningbo Tianyi Pavilion is the oldest private collection of books in China. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and has preserved a large number of Ming Dynasty documents, political books, and imperial examination records with local characteristics. It is an important place to preserve the direct historical materials of the Ming generation. If you are playing, you don't ask a tour guide to get the focus, so it is recommended to ask a tour guide, otherwise it will feel very boring. The garden style is very Jiangnan, very similar to Suzhou gardens. In short, you can go for a stroll...
This attraction is not only unique, but also highly ornamental. More importantly, the scenic spot has a strong sense of service and management norms. The staff actively guides tourists to visit and has an excellent experience. I hope to continue to maintain it and let more people experience the happiness of travel.
Taste the human history, the wind and rainy day, the architectural design is exquisite. The scenery is beautiful, the garden trees rockery, the pavilions, the pavilions, and the scenery can be changed. You can see how precious books are preserved, and the stone inscriptions are preserved on the corridor. There are also cute four stone tigers with particularly cute expressions.
Tianyi Pavilion Museum, China's oldest existing private collection of books, is also an outstanding representative of Jiangnan gardens. I am not interested in the collection of books (no culture is really terrible [embarrassed] [embarrassed]]), just wandering around inside, slowly looking east, looking west, and discussing with volunteers the words we don't know [screaming teeth], it is quite pleasant!
Very worthwhile, there are few people on Qingming Festival. When I was a teenager, I saw a pavilion on a wind and rainy day, and finally came here after many years. The Tianyi Pavilion garden is beautiful, the book inscriptions are great, the story is full, Mahjong and other additions are also a lot more interesting. Cultural creation is not too good. Nearby Moon Lake Park, etc., citywalk can be reached.
