What a view
Another beautiful road created to enjoy the beauty offered by the mountain ridge. There are a few stops along the way, notably the Yumigaoka Observation Deck (夢見が丘展望台), the Hieizan Peak Road Restauran...
There is no explanation of the discount which is insanely expensive due to the price rip-off No explanation in advance No explanation in advance No forced payment by postpayment compulsory collection I will never go again!
It is a toll road connecting Otsu City to the summit of Mt. Hiei. I drove up by a friend and wife to Enryakuji Temple from Tanotani Gate in the middle of Prefectural Road 30, which connects Otsu and Kyoto. From the train window, you can see the blue lake surface of Lake Biwa, the mountain 々 such as Mt. Ibuki in the direction of Hikone and Maibara. The trip went up at once, and on the way back, I slowly looked out at the view from several parking areas and observation restaurants.
I drove from Otsu to Tanotani Pass toll office, but I passed a branch to "Toll Office = Driveway". I immediately noticed a mistake and made a U-turn. Both the navigation system and the sign were instructing "turn right", but the reason I passed by was that there was a splendid and flashy sign at the branch and there was a parking lot, so I thought it was an entrance to a drive-in or something facility. Because. Maybe I'm just annoying, but be careful.
To visit Mt. Hiei Enryakuji, I took a bus from Kyoto Station and headed for Enryakuji Bus Center. The road from the city of Kyoto to Mt. Hiei was narrow and winding, and it was difficult for the buses and cars we were on to pass each other. After passing that road, when I came to the top of Mt. Hiei, there was a gate of Mt. Hiei driveway. The Hiei Mountain Driveway is a winding road, but there are several parking spots on the way, and ... is below.

The entrance was too good to pass by.
