Popular area, with classic arcades, but look closely under the arch leading out of the square and see the medieval staircase leading up to the apartments.
A great place to watch people
We sat in the piazza cafe/restaurant and whilst waiting for our food we watched the people of Ravenna going about their businesss.
FASCINATING ARCHITECTURE
Central Square an interesting city. My wife and I enjoyed the stroll. Lots of things to see. Plenty of fascinating architecture.

Popped by here in Aug 22 while on a walking tour and found the square interesting. Neither very big, nor particularly outstanding, but interesting nonetheless.
