Many townhouses with lattice doors are left, and you can remember the remnants of a port town that flourished in the shipping industry of Kitamaebune. It is wonderful that the historic building is used as a cafe or museum. The tourist information center of Echizen Railway Mikuni Station distributes maps for walking, which is convenient for walking around the city.
the townscape that flourished on the kitamae ship remains.

Mikuni Minato, where the old townscape remains. It is a town that prospered with the trade of Kitamaebune from the Edo period to the Meiji era. The remnants of the prosperity of that time remain here and there in the town, and you can enjoy walking around the town while visiting the former Morita Bank head office and the former Kishi Meike.
I've been to Tojinbo and Ashihara Onsen before, so when I was looking for a town I had never been to, I found Mikuni. I enjoyed it more than I expected in a historic city.
The highlights such as the former Kishi Meike and the former Morita Bank are gathered.

I asked the staff of the former Kishina family, but the higher the old building, the lower the height of the 2 floor, so you can see the time when it was built. When I look at it with such an eye, I am interested again. There are many modern buildings, but the recently built buildings are designed to match the old townscape, and you can see the enthusiasm for preserving the old townscape.
There are many banks and large buildings, so I think it's the main street of Mikuni Port. However, there are many buildings that have been rebuilt and renewed, and it may be more tasteful to enter the back alley.
