Kongxiang Temple

Damo Zushi, the first ancestor of Chinese Zen, Shaolin Temple, faced the wall for nine years, a sentence ＂ will pass the heart to Erzu Huike. Then all the way west, with the fate of the people, after Shiji Xiong'er Mountain, buried in Gudinglin Temple (now empty temple), built a free tower, the Damo Tower. Henan Sanmenxia Xiong'ershan Kongxiang Temple, formerly known as Dinglin Temple, is the burial ground of the first ancestor of Zen Bodhi Damo, it is famous for the Damo sacrifice of his body and pioneering Buddhism. According to historical records, after the ancestors of Damo Chu passed Fa Huike in Shaolin Temple, they passed Fa Fa to Dinglin Temple under Xiong'er Mountain for 5 years, and they passed away in Datong in Liang Wudi for two years, in December 536, and they were 150 years old. The monks were extremely sad, such as mourning, and buried the first ancestor master in Dinglin Temple in Buddha's ceremony, and built the Damoring Tower and Damor Temple. Liang Wudi Xiao Yan personally wrote the inscription "South Dynasties Bodhisattva Master Song and Order" to show the memorial to the creation of the Zen. Later, the emperor of the East Wei Dynasty returned from the western region in the first year of Yuanxiang, and met Damo Master Zhang pick only to walk in the west, and immediately reported to the emperor. The emperor heard that the order was dug up the tomb of Damo, and only saw the empty coffin. He knew that the master had been degenerated into a Buddha, and he changed the name of Dinglin Temple to "Kongxiang Temple". The temple is a key cultural relics in the country, of which the Tamoring Tower and Liang Wudi inscriptions are the most precious.
