Nirvana Palace was a temple sanatorium and a big hospital at the time. Even today, Cambodians still believe in the magical efficacy of the snake temple. Although the pool has been desolate for a long time, locals still pick plants in the water and take them home for a medicinal bath.

In ancient hospitals, doctors decided which pool you should soak in by judging which disease you have in the soil and water. After Angkor was abandoned, the artificial reservoir surrounding the pool hospital dried up and many trees grew. With the return of humans, the reservoir was put into use again, so the trees died into rows of stumps in the water, which was breathtaking. Ancient times, I needed to row a boat to enter the hospital, and now I have a boardwalk to enter. In fact, after entering, there is not much to see.

Neak Poan temple is a very popular island temple on the large circuit road at Angkor Wat. There isn't much of the temple, and due to the reflection on the lake, it gets *very* hot here. The highlight are the bridge, still waters and mirror image that is created.

Unlike the remains of other temples used to worship gods or deceased kings, the Longpan Pool was originally a place to treat patients, equivalent to our hospital today, so it has no tall buildings. Instead, it dug down five huge sinking pools. There is a small pool in each side of the big pool in the middle of the Longpan pool. The water of the big pool flows into the small pool through four sculpture nozzles. The statues in the North represent water; the statues in the East represent human beings (according to archaeological data, the statues in the East were originally an animal, said to be cattle, but for some reason or at any time changed into human figures), representing earth; the statues in the South represent lions and fire; and the statues in the West represent horses and wind.

Nirvana Palace is because his name Neak Pean, completely transliteration, in fact, the real meaning should be two snakes' coil, that is, Naga, in fact, I prefer the name dragon. The entire temple is a 14 cm diameter circular base, a closer look, in fact, it is a total of 7 layers, gradually shrinking to the center, a bit like Beijing's Temple of Heaven. Look closely and you will find many details, such as the two coiled snakes below, and a horse galloping up ahead of it, and many beside the horse. From the perspective of the visit, it is not possible to circle the entire palace at present, which also leaves us a lot of regret.

Siem Reap, Cambodia.
