Iceland
Iceland belongs to Europe, but it is not located on the European continent geographically, but is a solitary island in the North Atlantic, closest to Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the United Kingdom. Culturally, Iceland is generally considered one of the five Nordic countries, with many similarities in language and customs with Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. However, this small country has countless unique places. Geographically, it is located at the junction of the Eurasian and American geological plates, so volcanic activity is active. And its high latitude has given it countless glaciers, including the third largest in the world and the largest in Europe, Vatnajökull. This dual nature of fire and ice has earned it the titles of "Country of Ice and Fire" and "Arctic Fire Island". More noteworthy than these loud names is the unique natural scenery shaped by this duality, making Iceland a travel dream for countless people around the world. Coupled with the avant-garde culture here, friendly nationals, and highly progressive ideas, Iceland is not just beautiful in the travel industry, it is a travel attitude in itself.
Plane wreckage
In 1937, a US Air Force plane crashed on the black sand beach on the south coast of Iceland. Due to the high cost of repairs, it has been quietly parked here, becoming a popular tourist check-in spot. Not only that, "Game of Thrones", "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", "Noah's Ark: The Journey of Creation" all have scenes on the black sand beach, becoming the favorite place for science fiction directors.
Some people say that if you can't go to outer space, go to Iceland.
Some people say that going to Iceland is a planned escape from the earth. I strongly agree, for me, Iceland is the place I have been to, the place on this earth that is least like the earth's surface. Over the past few years of traveling around the world, whenever I am asked which country I like the most, my answer is always - Iceland
The wreckage is located near the town of Vik in southern Iceland and is one of Iceland's must-check-in attractions. There are two ways to go: drive to the bus station, take the bus or walk to the wreckage location, the other is to participate in the ATV cycling group, we go to the snow in winter, and we will go over a small river, it feels great. The cost is a bit hehehe
On November 24, 1973, a US Navy aircraft (C-47) was forced to land on a vast wasteland in southern Iceland due to exhaustion of fuel. The crew all miraculously survived, but because the cost of recycling the damaged aircraft was too high, they simply left the wreckage here. Sleeping with the sun and moon, accompanied by strong winds and snow, exudes the apocalyptic loneliness and desolation. So when we made Icelandic itinerary planning, we listed this location as a must-see attraction, even if a couple of young Chinese couples were frozen to death at night in the past, it could not stop our enthusiasm for the wreckage. The location is very good to find, continue to drive south from Skoga Falls, and it takes more than ten minutes to get to the parking lot. There is no ticket to the attraction, but because the wreckage is in a private territory, there is only a walk from the parking lot or a shuttle bus from the owner of the territory. I heard that walking back and forth 7 kilometers, it took more than three hours. Originally we were excited to walk in, but after getting off the car from the parking lot, the wind in Iceland really made me feel what was being blown away by the wind, people almost stood in the wind, so immediately hide back in the car, quietly waiting for the shuttle bus. About half a child, the shuttle bus came, got on the bus to buy tickets, and went back and forth 2,500 kronor per person. So our group of four people was carrying a squat, and silently thought about various photo positions in their minds. The shuttle bus drove about 15 minutes, the wreckage was so sudden, everyone jumped out of the car excitedly, but we were greeted by a stronger wind, mixed with gravel paved surface, people feel difficult to open their eyes. I finally understand the reason for the young couple to freeze to death, in this place that is not blocked on all sides, under such a large wind, maybe the average person can not hold for half an hour. Maybe our season is cold winter, maybe the wind is too strong that day, the temperature is too cold, everyone on the shuttle bus hurried to the attraction to complete a few punch-in photos, and then quickly returned to the car, the whole car from getting off to the return car took only ten hours. Five minutes or so. Only the wreckage of this half-century-long Icelandic plane, and the barbaric growth of the barren and ruins here.
