Balai Pemuda

Balai Pemuda was renovated! Now it has an underground parking space, painting exhibition area and also a skating park.But when I went there, the underground area was closed :( while based on the sign board it should've been opened.There were some events, too, one from a university and one about supporting local sellers.But really, not much I could do there. And it was so hot there! So I just took some photos, went around to explore, and went home.

Gedung Balai Pemuda Surabaya dibangun sejak tahun 1907. Dirancang oleh arsitek Belanda Westmaes. Gedung tersebut milik suatu perkumpulan orang-orang Belanda yang bernama “De Simpangsche Sociёteit” sampai jaman perang kemerdekaan 1945 (sebagai markas Arek-arek Suroboyo yang tergabung dalam Pemuda Republik Indonesia (PRI),sekaligus merupakan MARKAS PEMUDA Arek-arek Suroboyo. Sampai jaman sesudah kemerdekaan seperti yang kita lihat sekarang.

It's a beautiful historic building which was built during the Dutch colonial era. It's located in the heart of the Surabaya and it serves as a tourism information and many cultural activities and exhibitions

a good place to relieve fatigue and now it is the main square of Surabaya
