The original Kumano Honno Palace was not on the current mountain, but it was on the land of Dazhaiyuan, but for historical reasons, because the large mountain torrents sent, the original Kumano Honno Palace was washed away, and it was built on the mountain after reconstruction, and the original location of Dazhaiyuan was built. It has become a place of memorial. Now there is a super tall bird house here, very domineering, plus the flat land around, it is also very lonely existence, there is a forest behind the bird house, barely can be seen as Kumano Ancient Road. Generally speaking, although it is Dazhaiyuan, there is nothing to see except the bird house now, and the surrounding area is basically farmland.

Kumano Honno-Miyashi, the largest bird house in Japan, is located in Wakayama. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in March this year. It is very beautiful. You must visit Kumano Ancient Road!
Well worth a visit, a fun place.
Well, the largest bird house in Japan, it’s not bad to see it on the way.
The location of the earliest Kumano Honmiya Shrine in Dazhaiyuan is on the state ground where Kumanochuan, Yinwuchuan, and Iwatachuan meet three rivers. Therefore, it is also known as Dazhaiyuan. The area is said to be several times larger than the current Kumano Honmiya Shrine, up to 11, 000 pings. This point is visible from the entrance almost towering into the clouds of the giant bird house. In addition, there were many shrine buildings in the territory, which was a very sacred place. So this is also the general office of the Kumano Shrine in the country. Unfortunately, in 22 years of wisdom, the main shrine of the palace was flooded. The four shrines that escaped the robbery were moved to the current location of the Kumano Honya Daisha. I personally feel that even now, the location and scenery of the old site are still greatly superior to the reconstructed Honya Daisha. It is highly recommended to check in here.
