The predecessor of Fanjing Academy was Tongjiang Academy, which was built by Mao Ke, the deputy envoy of education at the end of the Hongzhi reign of the Ming Dynasty. It has a history of more than 600 years. The rebuilt Fanjing Academy is a full wooden structure. It is a research and study base that integrates Chinese studies education with new media and inherits and promotes Chinese traditional culture. Through the use of modern sound, light and new media technology, the academy allows everyone who enters the academy to have a four-fold experience of traditional rituals and music, cultural teaching, skill experience, and moral stories. The academy is about to be awarded the designated training base for the calligraphy and painting level examination of the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Studies Community of the China International Cultural Exchange Foundation, and the Tongren Branch of the Chinese Studies Promotion Committee of the Qufu Confucius Cultural Development Promotion Association.
