Perak Museum

The Perak Museum is situated in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. It is the oldest museum in Malaysia and highlights the history of the state. A well kept museum which is a great place to learn about our history, culture and heritage. Admission fee is RM2 for adult and the knowladge you get was priceless.

Although the collection here is more geared towards the collection of a zoological and botanical museum, it also has aboriginal history, a collection of antique cars belonging to the Perak nobility and a mini 3D gallery.

This gallery focusses on natural history and has complete skeletons of an elephant and a tiger among others. There is much taxidermy on display with the creatures set in life-like jungle dioramas - like a zoo, only with stuffed animals.

The museum is divided into two upper and lower floors, and the second floor needs to take off your shoes to go up the stairs.
