Tianjing Gorge Scenic Area

Behind the Shimen Reservoir, there is a pure, natural and undecorated wonderland. This is the Tianjing Gorge, a prehistoric canyon that stretches for ten miles. Steep cliffs stand opposite each other, with a crack in the middle, just like the crack in a board cut by a large saw. The local mountain people call it Jiebangou.

The ingenious workmanship of nature has created this strange mountain landscape that looks like it was cut by a knife and chopped by an axe. People say that it was created by gods. There are more than 20 scenic spots in Tianjing Gorge: Yaoya Temple, Jinding, Shixiang Cliff, Gongmu Cave, Zimu Peak, Daoclimbing Cliff, Touquanzi, Xiefo Cliff, Makuwan, Tianma Cave, Xiannv Screen, Linxian Waterfall, Yinma Cliff, Tiancheng Castle, Xiaomaji, Shuiliandong, Xiangziquan, Tianjing, Wolongtan, Dongting Lake, Heiyingbang, Majichang, Nantianmen, Shimazhuang, Jingangshan, Wuzui Cliff, Zuantian Cliff, etc. These stone peaks and cliffs with different shapes, some are independent and unsupported, some are side by side and close to each other, some are like high-rise buildings, some are like haystacks, some are like running beasts, some are like swooping eagles, and some are like dancing fairies.

At first glance, the shape of the mountain here is a cliff, but it keeps changing as tourists move. Looking up from the bottom of the valley is breathtaking and wonderful, and looking down from the top of the mountain, it is even more layered and colorful, like blooming green petals. The water here is also beautiful and wonderful. There are water drops hanging on the rock walls, water drops seeping between the cracks of the rocks, and water drops on the tips of the grass, facing the sun, sparkling and shining. A cold spring at the top of the mountain flies down from the cliff, hanging down like a thousand feet of white silk. The joyful shallow stream in the canyon runs through the space between the two cliffs, merges into a turbulent stream, washes the valley bottom into a stone trough several meters deep, and falls down, spinning into a mirror-like deep pool, clear to the bottom.
