The church is a bit far from Winchester railway station, about 25 minutes drive. It is a national heritage in England and is listed as a designated Class II protected building. The church was built around 1190. It was damaged and rebuilt in a fire in 1681. By 1885, the structure of the church had deteriorated so badly that it was demolished except for the church, and a similar new church was built near the centre of the village. The south wall is a two-light vertical window and a closed round head door (see photo), and the north wall has a small stinging needle window that dates back to 1190. By the way, let’s take some pictures of the new church (see the next three).
