It can be said that it is full of atmosphere. It belongs to Hanryeohae National Park. There are two legends circulating on Wutong Island. One is that in the late Goryeo period, Shin Min saw the phoenix flying to Wutong Island to pick and eat the fruit of the sycamore and cut down all the sycamore trees on Wutong Island. There is also a young and beautiful woman who met a robber. In order to keep her chastity, she gave herself up and jumped into the blue waves of the Changhai Sea. The husband, who learned of the incident later, built a tomb at the foot of Wutong Island. In the winter of the year when the blizzard and gusty winds fell, he was arrested by The snow-covered tombs had the camellias removed and the mangosteens, a symbol of chastity, grew. For this reason, the camellia is also called the 'woman's heart flower'. Walking past the legendary monument, you can see the turtle ship model sitting in the center of the square, behind it is a musical fountain, and you can see another breakwater. At the cruise terminal here, you can take a boat to see and travel around Wutong Island, and you can also take a boat to Doshan Bridge, Xiangri Temple and Jinao Islands. The breakwater that extends to Gwangyang Bay on the east side and the South China Sea is also a good place for fishing. Go straight up the promenade leading to the top of the island in the central plaza, and go through the mangosteen tunnel to reach the circular promenade connecting the island's outer contours. There are camellias and mangosteens growing in every part of Odongdo Island. It is said that General Yi Sun-sin used to cut down mangosteens to use as bows and arrows when he was training soldiers here in the past.
