3.18 Martyr Tomb

The tomb of the March 18 Martyrs is located in the "Kyushu Qingyan" site in the southwest of the Yuanmingyuan, facing the front lake of the Yuanmingyuan in the south, and there are walls around the cemetery. The stone-blocked circular platform foundation with a height of more than one meter is built in the middle, and the marble tombstone with a height of nine meters is erected on the platform. The tombstone is engraved on the south side with the words "March 18 Martyrs Monument". There are texts and pictures on the surrounding walls, background introductions and martyrs' life introductions. The tomb of the martyrs was built on the 3rd anniversary of the March 18th tragedy, when nearly 10,000 people in Beiping City attended the grand martyr funeral ceremony.

The Tomb of March 18 Martyrs is located at the southwest corner of the Yuanmingyuan site in Haidian District, a newly built scenic spot of Qingyan in Jiuzhou. In 1929, it was built in memory of 47 martyrs who died in the 1926-quot; 318-quot; tragedy. The pine trees around the tombstone were already towering. The lush branches and leaves covered the tombstone. The solid fence separated the tombstone from the outside world, as if guarding the peace and solemnity of the tombstone.
