Most Korean temples are built in the inaccessible mountains, because the process of reaching the temple through the steep mountain road is regarded as a kind of spiritual practice in itself. From the cruise terminal to Qingping Temple, it takes about 30 minutes to walk along the mountain road, but the beautiful scenery along the way often makes people feel that the hard work of the mountain road is worth it. The 7-meter-high Gooseong Waterfall is one of the three major waterfalls in Chuncheon. It is located in the valley between the pier and Cheongpyeongsa Temple. It is named because the water can make nine kinds of sounds. If you get tired on your way up the mountain, take a break by the waterfall. After the waterfall, there is an artificial lotus pond built by Li Zixian, called Shadow Pond. There are three boulders stacked in the pool, with reeds planted between the stones, shaped like Wufeng Mountain. After Yingchi, it is Qingping Temple. The three-story stone pagoda of Qingping Temple has a mysterious legend. It is said that there is a young man who likes the princess of the Tang Dynasty in China. After being killed, he was reincarnated as a snake and haunted the princess. One day, the princess who made a wish came to Qingping Temple to burn incense and worship Buddha, and the snake left her. So the princess built a three-story stone pagoda on the Jiusheng Waterfall below the Qingping Temple. The three-story stone pagoda that is still standing in its place is also known as the Princess Tower.
