Hokkaido

Hokkaido, in northern Japan, is the country’s second largest island. Hokkaido’s four seasons offer travelers a rich variety of experiences. Sapporo, the capital, is the best place for shopping and great food. Otaru evokes romance and nostalgia. This seemingly European town was the location for the film “Love Letter.” Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya have beautiful summer fireworks festivals. Visit the famous “Hell Valley” hot spring in Noboribetsu or walk through the flower fields in Furano. Finally, the adorable penguins in Asahikawa are a treat for any traveler.
