At the same time, adventure seekers can enjoy activities like the world's longest zipline at Jebel Jais, kayaking in mangrove forests, or exploring historical sites like Dhayah Fort. Ras Al Khaimah Transportation

Ras Al Khaimah's transportation infrastructure is robust, prominently featuring Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and various active passenger ports. Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT), inaugurated in 1976, is a notable gateway facilitating air travel. Located about 18 kilometers from the city center, the airport connects Ras Al Khaimah with several international destinations. To reach the city from the airport, travelers can avail taxi services that are readily accessible from the terminal. RAK also boasts several passenger ports with advanced facilities catering to the growing cruise tourism sector. The showcase of this initiative is the transformation of an old ferry terminal into a modern cruise passenger terminal. This terminal, designed to accommodate luxury cruises, is equipped with facilities like state-of-the-art security measures including facial recognition CCTV, and X-ray machines for luggage. From the passenger ports, taxis are the primary mode of transport for reaching the city conveniently.

Ras Al Khaimah Travel Tips

1. Book Jebel Jais Zipline Early: The world's longest zipline needs reserving in advance due to its popularity. Arrive at least 30 minutes early and bring your ID for check-in. 2. Respect Wildlife in RAK Desert: Protect the desert ecosystem by not littering, staying on trails, and keeping a safe distance from animals. 3. Get Desert Camping Permit: Before camping, obtain a permit from Environmental Protection and Development Authority to ensure safety and ecosystem protection. Follow the guidelines on their website. 4. Dress Modestly: Ras Al Khaimah is conservative, so dress modestly, especially at religious sites. 5. Respect Ramadan: Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking in public during daylight hours out of respect. 6. Desert Safety: Explore the desert with a guide, carry supplies, stay hydrated, and follow safety instructions with licensed operators. 7. Photography at Religious Sites: Ask permission before photographing and respect no-photography signs at religious sites. 8. Alcohol Regulations: Alcohol is only allowed in licensed venues. Public intoxication is prohibited, and a liquor license is needed for retail purchases. 9. Public Behavior: Avoid public displays of affection, swearing, and aggressive behaviour. Use your right hand for eating and handing items, and don't take photos without permission. 10. Stay Hydrated in the Heat: Please be aware that the summer months in Dubai can be extremely hot, which may pose a risk of dehydration. To ensure you remain hydrated when out and about, it's recommended that you carry a refillable water bottle.

Ras Al Khaimah Useful Guide

Basic Arabic phrases such as "As-salaam Alykum" (Peace be Upon You) and "Shukran" (Thank you) are useful.

Danielle Wang:“I learned a lot. The main thing was that the old man selling tickets at the door was very funny. He teased us by saying that this was a haunted house. He told me that if I found a ghost coming out, I could just jump out of the window if I didn’t have time to run. 😅😅🤣🤣 He said it was okay and the hospital was nearby. Then he saw that we were serious and believed it. He said he was just teasing us. There was no ghost. 😅😅😅😅”

The children were very happy, thinking that they had finally climbed the tallest tower. The children were happy, and I felt it was worth it.”
