Cemetery
Memorial Hall
Hanyang44Lincoln's Tomb is located in Oak Ridge Cemetery, which is located west of the north of Springfield, the capital of Illinois. Many ordinary people are buried in this cemetery. People just opened up an open area in the cemetery to build Lincoln's tomb. His wife and son are also buried in this cemetery. In the cemetery stands a granite obelisk 30 meters high. The four corners of the tower are decorated with four groups of bronze statues representing infantry, artillery, cavalry and navy. These four groups of statues symbolize northern soldiers who were martyred during the Civil War. Lincoln's big bronze statue stands in front of the tomb. The tomb passage is open, and the tomb passage leads to the tomb chamber. There are some bronze statues of Lincoln on both sides of the tomb, as well as the bronze medals of his famous speech (inlaid on the walls of the tomb). The tomb path leads directly to the tomb, where Lincoln’s sarcophagus is placed. Free parking is available in the cemetery. There is no charge for parking and visiting the Lincoln Tomb.
