still as good boss and bosses as well as the waitress are as usual very friendly nothing to complain about at all levels!!
I read positive reviews about the restaurant 'Aux Vieux Remparts', so I decided to book a table there last Monday. It was the last meal of our short stay in France and Belgium. My first piece of advice concerns the location of this establishment - it is right next to the train station, so outside the ramparts of Bergues - I made the mistake of parking in the center of the village. It is a welcoming restaurant, I would say typically French, and I saw that it was frequented by local customers - a good sign in my opinion. We ordered a goat cheese salad, shrimps, and steak and fries, accompanied by local beer and white wine, followed by a white lady and coffee. Everything was good, well prepared and presented, and the quantities were just right. I appreciated the honesty of the dishes, they were quality and rustic dishes, but not at high prices. The two waiters took the time to chat with us, about our trip, their travels in England, etc. I recommend Aux Vieux Remparts without hesitation. If you're near Dunkirk, I recommend booking there and visiting the village of Bergues at the same time.
The staff present are very welcoming and very helpful. The menu is very good and plentiful. From the Maroilles tart to the pork cheeks with beer to the dessert, everything was very good. And in addition, everything was served with a smile and kindness. The value for money is excellent and we promised to come back. We were delighted and had a very pleasant time there. A very nice discovery in Bergues
We had a great time in a very pleasant setting with a view of the ramparts. The atmosphere was warm but not stuffy.
We had a pleasant meal at the old ramparts, which we already knew. The welcome was warm and the food excellent. We particularly appreciated the lively atmosphere, without being too noisy. A very good address to share with the faithful of the Fourchette
