Matheson Cafe

This restaurant in Mount Cook National Park is definitely worth recommending to everyone. The environment is very good and matches the natural landscape here very well. Moreover, whether it is seafood or lamb chops, they are very delicate and not only look good, but also taste great. It is definitely worth a try.

A restaurant at the entrance of the Fox Matheson Lake Trail. Many restaurants in New Zealand are of good quality, very clean, and the food is delicious. We ordered a clam risotto, which was not large but very delicious and fresh, and the American coffee was also authentic, about 25 New Zealand dollars. White water is free. The view outside the window is also an important selling point, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while eating delicious food.

After dinner, we decided to have a dessert and drove to Matheson Cafe by Lake Matheson. Try to drive as little as possible at night because there are no street lights. We drove carefully in the dark and finally arrived at the parking lot of the cafe. It really lived up to its reputation. The desserts were delicious and satisfying. Honorable mentions were all over the wall.

Lake Matheson, not far from Fox Glacier Town, is also a well-known tourist attraction. It can be reached in about 5 minutes by car. Lake Matheson is a circular trail-style attraction. The Cafe at the entrance is said to be a Michelin one-star. You can have breakfast here or take a break and enjoy the scenery after walking. I didn’t eat their breakfast sandwich, but the clerk recommended this sandwich-like lunch, which was also delicious and the coffee was good.

After strolling by the lake, I came out to have lunch. It was very convenient. It was a beautiful cafe, clean and bright, and the food was good.
