Jianshui City is also known as Lin'an City. Many buildings and monuments in the ancient city are well preserved. It is also famous for Jianshui barbecue. It is a great destination for leisure and eating. 🚗 Transportation: 1⃣️ Kunming-Jianshui: There are intercity trains from Kunming South Station and Kunming Station, which takes about 2 hours. 2⃣️ Yuanyang-Jianshui: Take a bus from Nansha Passenger Station, 33 yuan/person. Although it is only about 100km, it takes about 3 hours because it is all mountain roads. 🏠 Accommodation options: 1⃣️ Ancient resort hotels: Tingziyun, Sichenyuan, etc. 2⃣️ Cost-effective inns: Ruxiyuan. 3⃣️ Class-star hotels: Lin'an Hotel. I booked Xiyuan at first because I liked the features of the renovation of the old house, but later I cancelled it due to changes in my schedule and could only book Lin'an Hotel. Lin'an Hotel has a good stay experience, with sufficient heating, a large bathroom, a rich buffet breakfast, and a wide range of options. The ancient city can be reached on foot, and the service attitude is also very good. 🐷 Food: The special foods are grass sprouts and papaya juice, which are available in many stores. We only ate in three stores due to time reasons. 1⃣️Lihuajian snacks: It is not easy to find in the alley, but the snacks are rich and cost-effective. Recommended small meat skewers, pig skin, beef fat, grilled tofu and ice porridge, the grass sprout rolls have a little less grass sprouts, and the ice papaya is more greasy. 2⃣️Huang Ji Vietnamese rolls: The score is high but it feels very average, the oil smoke is very large and the queue is long, not recommended. 3⃣️Fuji cuisine: The main meal is highly recommended! Grass sprout fried pork slices, fried porcini mushrooms, sweet potato cakes and pomegranate juice are all must-try! The signature steam pot chicken is more flavorful, but the chicken lacks a little toughness. 🚉 Tour guide: 1⃣️ Zhu Family Garden: The residence of the wealthy Zhu family, it feels like visiting the Grand View Garden. There is a more detailed history of the evolution of the Zhu family, which coincides with the important nodes of modern history. It is worth a visit. 2⃣️ Meter-gauge train: If you want to take the train, you must buy tickets a few days in advance. I didn't have time to buy tickets because of the change in itinerary, and the next two days were sold out. The hard seat is 100/person, and there are discounts on a certain trip. But I found that taking a taxi to these points is also possible, and it saves money. ✅ Lin'an Station: The hotel walks to Lin'an Station. The station is now in the form of a theme park, similar to the Beitou Railway Station in Taipei. You can take pictures of the rails and trains entering the station. ✅ Shuanglong Bridge (Seventeen-Arch Bridge): One of the best preserved dozen stone bridges in modern times. There is also a rice field next to it for taking pictures📷 ✅ Xianghui Bridge: Take a taxi to Xianghui Bridge Station. The bridge itself is nothing to see. You can see the small train passing by and admire the French-style station. ✅Tuanshan Folk Houses: The Zhang clan lived in the village, and there are still many people living there. You can see the complete folk house buildings. Tuanshan Folk Houses is located in the suburbs, far away, and it is difficult to get a taxi on the return trip. It is recommended to leave before 16:00, so that you can take the bus back to the city if you can't get a taxi. Jianshui is still quite cold and windy when it cools down.
