This was our favorite restaurant in Taormina. It's an authentic Sicilian restaurant and the food was amazing. The staff couldn't have been any nicer.
Very friendly staff, traditional Sicilian great quality dishes and fantastic wine. We went for our anniversary and we really enjoyed the way they brought us the food on a little Sicilian boat with music playing! It was a warm theatrical experience and we will definitely return! ????❤️
In the small town of Alberobelli in southern Italy, the houses of the people are like small mushrooms, so it is called the Mushroom Village. It is like a fairy tale town in real life. It is very interesting #EuropeanTravel#ItalianIn-depthTravel#TourismRecommendationOfficial
We went to the Calipso restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day. The place, very romantic and cared for in every detail, has a setting inspired by the centuries-old folk tradition of Sicily, suggested at the entrance by an authentic Sicilian float and, outside, by the "kissing boat", where it is mandatory to sit and kiss, a brilliant idea of the manager. Every detail, starting from the friendliness of the staff, transmits that humanity and that genuine desire to have fun thanks to which Sicilians are loved in the world, so much so that you do not perceive that slightly detached attitude that can be found in many places in Taormina. The freshness of the local fish and the wide choice of molluscs and crustaceans gives you the impression of being in the Caribbean on a pleasure trip. The lively and exotic atmosphere is confirmed by the splendid tree-lined promenade of Taormina populated by tourists from all over the world. The icing on the cake of this splendid milieu of good food, culture, music and human warmth is the adjacent swimming pool, which children can use on the hottest days. But, let's be honest, what convinces us most about the places when you book with TheFork is the quality/price ratio and this is the strong point of Calipso, a truly unbeatable value for the area. Our favorite restaurant! ❤️ 🍝 🦞 PS. If you order the appetizers of the day (a very varied and generous selection), they will be served to you on a ship-shaped trolley by a waiter dressed as a naval officer complete with uniform, scarf and Bancroft (which will also be offered to diners) to the syncopated rhythm of the song "Djobi, Djoba" by the Gipsy Kings. Don't forget to take out your cell phones to immortalize the fun memory!
We tried the spaghetti with clams, the spaghetti allo scoglio, the fried scallop fish and the lobster risotto. It was all delicious! Congratulations!
