This place is amazing, almost like it was in the Viking Age. The huge wooden planks from the days of candle lighting, the huge leather strapped stools, the waterfalls hanging down from the walls are visually a wonderful place, the bar seems to have been cut from a whole lumber price. Food wise I can only speak for my personal diet, it was one of the better meals I have ever had. There was plenty of pickles and baked potatoes (don&#39;t order the starters). There is a good selection of wines

I went here on a night that I wasn&apos;t starving, but also didn&apos;t want to miss a meal. After checking a few restaurant menus, I knew I had to try their potato-carrot pancakes with sour cream and lingonberry jam. I paired it with the mushroom and goat cheese basket for a delicious small meal.  I was glad I made a reservation, because even at an early hour it was busy.  Of note, they were very welcoming of a solo traveller eating on her own :)

three people. 3 different beers, 3 different meals.  We lucked out to get a table on a Wednesday evening without a reservation. The waitress was fantastic: friendly, helpful and fast.  We shared a "Beer snacks" cheese plate, which was tasty and pretty large.   orders were meatballs (very satisfied), a vegetarian eggplant dish (very satisfied) and vegetarian baked potato (mostly satisfied). The mostly on the last item comes from the potato tasting a like it was pre-cooked before being finally baked. This is common and understandable, but does affect the taste.  While the music was good, we were just under a speaker and it got progressively louder until we really just wanted to pay the check and get out.

Highly recommend. We were lucky to find an unreserved table by arriving at around 6pm on a Tuesday. All the tables were soon filled. Great atmosphere, delicious food - which is well presented with generous portions. We are only in Riga for a few days but will try to visit again. The service is a little slow as they are so busy but you don’t mind soaking in the atmosphere as you wait.

We went to this bar due to suggestions and reviews in Riga. We had been sick during our stay in Riga but felt ok for a spontaneous New Year´s party.  We tried to figure out a dinner but it looked like NO. As a folk music and dance enthustiastic I found this bar interesting and it was close by to our hotel. It was raining, we were still a bit on recovery... but this bar, live music and the athmospheare hit us! We truly enjoyed our stay and the music, athmosphere! Thank you for making our desperate holiday even a bit more lightful to remember! Amazing folk music and dance!

Sadly couldn’t get to this evening because I couldn’t book in. I emailed twice, once on the day I was coming to Riga, and then again a couple of days later. No email was ever responded to. I went in in person to speak to someone on the day. Bar staff were looking very, said they were fully booked but they could offer space at the bar only but I would need to come at 6pm which wasn’t possible as I had been out all day. Advised you need to book 5 days in advance - I had tried but to know avail. Very very disappointed.
