Taj Mahal

A popular barbecue restaurant run by Bedouins. The restaurant has no walls. After sunset, the wind blowing from the Dead Sea will be very cool. All the furnishings are in Arabic style, just like stepping into the Thousand and One Nights. The appetizers are roughly the same as those of Jewish dishes, and various side dishes are served with hummus sauce. The main course is a large barbecue platter, and the portion is really scary! There are three types of barbecued meat: chicken, lamb and beef. The thick iron tongs are half a meter long, and each piece of meat is the size of a walnut. Lifting the skewers, you can only feel the domineering and fragrant. Hurry up and put it in your mouth. No matter what kind of meat, it is extremely tender and full of flavor from the inside out. Even the most woody chicken is absolutely not dry at all. It is fragrant, smooth and tender, and people can't stop eating. Just one dish has left everyone's stomach with only coffee. Arabic black coffee with small desserts comes at the right time. I didn't remember the name of this Arabic dessert. It is crispy all over, has the aroma of sesame paste, and tastes a bit like prawn crisps. Because it is freshly baked, it is better than the prawn crisps and is perfect with the bitter black coffee. Good food but poorly presented on a metal dish. It's not the quality that we had for 4 years ago. To us it seems that the owner has changed. In one if the cups in the metal dish was a teaspoon of tomato sauce that was hardly worth the trouble to put it there.

a very good restaurant. always good food and always friendly staff. Taj Mahal restaurant is a great restaurant. Always happy to come back.

Unfortunately, the food was served on metal plates which gave a very boring feeling. And the wine was served in glasses that cannot be classified as restaurant porcelain. The food was also barely lukewarm. When we ordered food, we already said that we wanted dessert, but once we got our food, none of the staff came by our table. So in the end we paid and left. We ate dessert somewhere else. Would have been a much higher rating with different porcelain, hot food and staff who didn't forget about us. /Kristina
