Gyeongju National Park, the only historic park in Korea, was designated as the national park in 1968 after the Jirisan Mountain for the second time. The eight districts cover an area of 136.55㎢, including Bulguksa Temple, which is the highlight of Buddhism culture, Mt. The well-preserved Silla cultural remains and harmonious natural landscapes make it a popular venue for history education. It is also one of the top 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1979 and is recognized worldwide.
