Introduction
St. George's Church is an ancient Anglican church in Southeast Asia and one of the oldest local attractions. The building is fairly well proportioned, the floor is paved with marble, and the columns are neatly arranged and beautifully shaped, and the spires stand tall. This Anglican Church is one of the oldest landmarks in the country. It was built in 1818 by convicts and at the entrance is a memorial canopy in remembrance of Captain Francis Light, when he first landed in Penang.
St. George's Church is the largest all-wood building in the world, all in the white Gothic style, with gorgeous stained glass inside and Queen Victoria's chandelier above the altar, which was just a major renovation. But still feel its grandeur.
