Photos of St. Francis CSI Church

St. Francis Church is located in Cochin, southern India. It was built by the Portuguese in 1503 and is the oldest church in India. The great navigator da Gama died in Cochin in 1524 and was buried here, and later moved to Lisbon, where his tombstone remains. The whole church is very simple, revealing vicissitudes and primitiveness. The frescoes on the ceiling of the church are very exquisite and have high artistic value.
