What people are saying:

The place where Lao Ye took us to see Rafflesia should not be in the Rafflesia Reserve in the National Park. He said that natural Rafflesia is very rare. It blooms once a year and the flowering period is only 7 days. It is generally not seen by day-trip tourists like us. Therefore, the local residents themselves circled after finding the Rafflesia flower on the mountain and waited for it to bloom, and within a few days of blooming, they would charge tourists to watch it on the side of the road. It can also be regarded as a way of local income generation, and the fees range from 1 to 5 MYR. The signs on the side of the road can be seen to be temporary, and the toll office only has tables and chairs, but it says the first day of the seven days of flowering. The day we went was the first day of "First Day". Rafflesia, also known as Rafflesia, is the world's largest flower plant. It is famous for its huge flowers and smells like carrion after the flowers die. It is known as the "World Flower King". Baidu Encyclopedia says that this flower is a succulent parasitic plant. Succulent parasitism means that organisms parasitize on the rhizomes or branches of plants, and the nutrient-absorbing organs degenerate into mycelium and invade the tissues of the host plant. Reading this, my hair is dripping with hair, how can I look like alien. In the "protection area", several flowers have been circled, and there are also Rafflesia flowers that have faded, showing a rotten black color.

A must visit place near Kota Kinabalu

This rafflesia center is a good place to stop when you explore the outskirt of Kota Kinabalu. The rafflesia species here is beautiful.

An unusual plant in an unusual setting

Local people own this land and the plant takes a long time to flower and quickly dies. It isn't for everyone but to see a 50cm plant in bloom for about £5, is worth it in my view. The adorable 12 ye...

    Got to see the flower

I was expecting to enter a big, highly commercialized flower farm; but to surprise, my driver stopped at a hut along the Main road. There were about three other vehicles, all with Japanese tourists. ...

    Too far but interesting

It is not always there so you need a guide. When it has flower you will see a banner posted. Quite interesting but you have to endure the trip. Quite far.
