A pebbled beach on an island between both banks of the Isar, with a beer garden.
Yes, believe it or not, Munich has a beach. Don't imagine golden sands, waves and that. Rather, they belong to the channel of the Isar River. The place is fantastic and you can spend a nice day there. Obviously, in summer it will be better since you can go into the river to swim. Although I imagine that in winter it must have its charm since there is also a huge park. A place to be in genuine contact with nature in Munich. One of my favorites there.
For many Munich residents, the Flaucher is the epitome of summer on the Isar. Since the successful renaturation, this section of the river - between Brudermühlstrasse and the zoo - feels like a wild water river. The islands north of the zoo are particularly nice for swimming in the clear, turquoise-blue water of the Isar. A walk on the "Flauchersteg" is also worthwhile.
