Siyu Western Fort

The ancient fort covers an area of 8 hectares, surrounded by high walls. The walls are stacked with stones to form a fortress. The fortress is completely sheltered in the basalt layer. The walls are thick and thick. The momentum is majestic. There are double arches at the front entrance of the fort of Xitai Ancient Castle. Above the front door is inlaid the stone forehead of "Xiyu Xitai" inscribed by Li Hongzhang. Inside the fort, there are many vaults and tunnels extending in all directions. The brick rooms on both sides of the tunnel are the living quarters of officers and soldiers. . In the event of a battle, officers and soldiers can communicate with each other in the tunnel. The fort is surrounded by cliffs and cliffs on three sides. The ventilation and lighting in the fort are quite good. When you climb the arched corridor and look around, you can still feel the majesty and national spirit of the guards and pirates. It is the historical witness of Penghu's foreign relations. It faces the entrance of the Inland Sea of Penghu in front of it, and climbs to the outer wall, overlooking the magnificent ocean, and has an excellent outlook.
