A very airy place, beautiful scenery, very ingenious carving of nature, very interesting and cost effective tour overall.
When we visited this place is early June and the only colors appear in meadow is green grass and yellow flower. It wasn''t colorful as the picture shown in TA. Maybe July is better time to see the peak of blooming flowers with many colors. However, this plain is surrounded by mountains and hills and field of lentils. We only stop for brief since it doesn''t live up our expectation. If come at the right time, this place is very beautiful.
Castelluccio Park is the largest sea of flowers in Italy. It was once an ancient huge lake in the Apennines. It covers an area of about 15 square kilometers. There is a small town called Norcia with only 150 people nearby. It takes 3 hours. This group is the yellow rape blossoms, red poppies, blue cornflowers, and white chamomiles from Mito in mid-July this year!
It's just a sea of flowers, it makes you dazzled.
Casteluccio Park has the largest flower sea in Italy, and is as famous as the lavender flower sea in Provence, France and Keukenhof Park in the Netherlands. The flowering period is from May to the beginning of July each year. Of course, it will be adjusted relative to the season, rain and sunlight. Different flower species will have different flowering periods. Every year Casteluccio holds an annual flower festival, which is a festival worth seeing!
In Castelluccio, you can not only admire the sea of flowers, but also all kinds of outdoor activities that dazzle you. You can hike here, you can experience paragliding, mountain biking, horseback riding and so on... The entire national park is in a valley in the basin. Hiking here will get a kind of paradise.
