Who doesn't love public art? Especially on such a grand scale. I find it sublime, yet achingly poetic.

I used this sculpture as a landmark when I was running around the city as a kid. It wouldn't be Federal Plaza without it, and I hope they never get rid of it.

Jackson Stop. Directly upstairs in Federal Plaza. It looks just like a flamingo doesn't it?? A popular place for rallies & demonstrations & farmers markets.

I've been a fan of Calder's work for a while, the Flamingo is no exception. The imaginative and imposing sculpture with the surrounding professional buildings makes it a bold break from the traditional. A nice stop-by for any wandering art-lover!

My favorite of the Loop sculptural icons. The splash of red against the backdrop of black / grey government buildings is impressive. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
