The Monastery of Bass, adjacent to the bathing grounds of ancient Rome, is a landmark building of Bass City. Bass Monastery is pale yellow in appearance. It was built from Bass Stone and has a cross-shaped plane. It was first built in the 7th century A.D. and experienced reconstruction, fire and restoration. Finally, it was built into the present Gothic architecture in the 16th century. It is very magnificent.

    Very peaceful setting with beautiful gardens. There are some wonderful scented roses and lots of lavender that was attracting several different species of bees.The Abbey, inside and out, is very dramatic and has some incredible architectural features.Definitely worth a visit. love this tigabelas

    Absolutely stunning well worth a visit, easy to find a couple of minutes walk from the train station. Admission charge Adults £6.50 but well worth it. Staff are helpful polite and informative.
