Hyde Park (HYDEPARK) is just a few steps away from the city. The short and neatly mowed lawn under the shade is a favorite place for lunchtime appointments, strolling over soft hills and through the surging Akibod fountain (ARCHIBALDFOUNTAIN), built in memory of the French-Australian Alliance in World War I, leaving the noise of vehicles far behind. Hyde Park is rectangular in shape, square in the South and round in the north, bordering Elizabeth Street in the west, College Street in the east, St. James Road and Prince Albert Road in the north, and Liverpool Street in the south.
