The Orthodox Cathedral is the Red Church of Helsinki's three main attractions, the other two are the White Church and Sibelius Park. Built in 1868, the largest Greek Orthodox church in Scandinavia, the golden onion roof is full of Russian flavor and shows the cultural relics left by Russia in Finland. The church was designed by Russian architects. In addition to continuing the Russian Byzantine style, the building also incorporates a little Western Roman architecture. The facade of the Russian church is mostly white or gray, while the facade of the Uspensky church is dark red, with a platinum roof supported by four stone pillars, a total of 13 golden onions representing Christ and 12 disciples.
