" Although the historic buildings here do not have the splendid and proud appearance, they have been integrated with Palermo's parks, green spaces and city squares, so they do not seem abrupt at all. The Palazzo Reale, opposite the magnificent Piazza del Plebiscito, was built by architect Dominic Vontana in 1600 and later rebuilt many times, becoming the Palace of the Bourbon Dynasty after the 18th century.
