Gorgeous, historical Aqueduct of Segovia
If you’re going to Madrid, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is worth a visit too! About an hour or so away, one can conveniently purchase a bus ticket at the Madrid Moncloa station for maybe around 10 euros for a return ticket (I’m sorry I forgot the exact price but it was affordable!). And the bus takes you right to the centre of Segovia, which is great.
From there, in just 10 minutes or so you can walk/stroll to this amazing, impressive aqueduct, very obviously the main feature of this town. It’s unmissable and even the main street leading up to it is named after it. Its grand and old and anything grand and old is worth looking at, in my opinion hahaha because hey, it’s been standing for ages. A little piece of history and culture, you know?

Segovia, the old town is on a narrow and long rock, with a large number of historical sites, beautiful cathedrals, the Alcazar Castle in the fairy tale world is the gem in the architectural complex, the Roman aqueduct is the landmark here, one of the most magnificent projects left by the Romans in Spain, the aqueduct has more than 160 arches, built in the first century AD, more than two thousand years of history, and has been operating well until now. Standing under the aqueduct, looking at the giant building made up of large stones, I was amazed and stopped in admiration!

Segovia, strolling in the historic city.
strolling in the historic city.
Segovia: Spectacular Aqueduct Bridge
Segovia, located in the northwest of Madrid, built an aqueduct that spans the city after being conquered by the Roman Empire.
(Aqueduct), standing 30 meters above the ground, has been standing till now. Segovia Cathedral is the last Gothic cathedral in Spain, with a main tower and several small spires highlighting the nobility of the church, also known as the "lady of Spanish churches". The castle (Alcazar) located on the edge of the ancient city is said to be the prototype of the Disney Castle design and a great place to overlook the ancient city from a high vantage point.
Gothic Cathedral
It is located at Calle Marques del Arco, 1, 40001 Segovia, which was built in the mid 16th century. The Gothic-style Roman church dedicated to Virgin Mary.
It replaced the Old Cathedral that is located in the current gardens of Alcazar, which was destroyed during the war of the Communities in 1520.
In the west, next to Enlosado, is the main facade, its entrance is known as Puerta del Perdon, with the sculpture of Virgin. The door of San Geroteo is located at the southern facades that was finished in the 18th century. In the north we will see the Puerta de San Frutos built in honor of the patron saint of the city.
The Cathedral of Segovia has an ambulatory structure, beautiful windows with fine tracery and stained glass windows of exceptional quality.

Plaza Mayor Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Square of Segovia
Plaza Mayor was built in the 17th century, the square was treated as the centre of the village, where vendors would install their stands, and citizens would socialize and meet.
The town hall has been the building where the majority of Segovian events take place. Then toward the left of the town hall, there is the Cathedral known as Santa Maria de la Asuncion and San Frutos that was built between 1526 and 1577. The church of San Miguel collapsed in the year 1532 but was then rebuilt in the same place. Juan Bravo theater was built in 1917 and is still in use for both locals and tourists.
At the end of the 19th century, the squares were filled with cafes, hotels and boutique shops. It has been the centre of the city for a long time, a meeting place for parties and public rejoicing events.
[Segovia - Plaza Mayor]
Yes, Segovia also has a small square called Plaza Mayor, which is a miniature version of the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. The architectural style is also very similar. The first floor is the cloister, the middle is the residential area, and the top floor has two small towers. There is a clock that is still rotating in the middle of the two collapsed buildings.
Like the life of the outside, the streets are full of dining tables and chairs. Like the life of the outside, the house has an open-air balcony. I like the life of the outside, I like the sun to tan yourself. I like the life of the outside, and now I am looking for a high-value open-air restaurant to spend the sun.
One person can sit for an hour, don't worry about other things, maybe I can stay longer. After a cup of coffee, I ordered a glass of wine. The time was so wonderful and comfortable. The sun was breezy and the wine was delicious. This was a wonderful lunch time in Segovia.
