There is a beautiful Dapeng Mountain on the Dapeng Peninsula, surrounded by the sea on three sides. The geological heritage landscape resources are mainly composed of ancient volcanic relics and coastal landforms, as well as typical volcanic lithofacies profiles, paleontological origins (including ancient cultural sites), fault-fold structures, waterfalls, collapsed geological relics, and underwater coral reefs. About 135 million years ago in the late Jurassic period, the Pacific plate subducted toward the Eurasian plate. At that time, Shenzhen was on the edge of the continental plate, and a large-scale volcanic eruption occurred, leaving a large number of ancient volcanic geological relics. At that time, the ecological environment had undergone major changes. 65 million years ago, after the Late Cretaceous, the Pacific plate collided with the Eurasian plate and went through the Himalayan orogeny. The South China Sea Basin expanded and split, and the Dapeng Peninsula was separated from the Hong Kong massif. From 18300 to 38400 in the middle of the late Pleistocene and the Holocene, two transgressions occurred successively, and the coast was subjected to long-term hydrodynamic action, which was continuously scoured and eroded, thus creating many strange marine deposits and sea erosion landscapes.
